Pre-Jubilee Events

Can't wait for the Jubilee for your fill of Jazz? We're sponsoring some great gigs leading up to the Jubilee and we want you to come! Check out these great gigs featuring a wide range of Jazz styles!

The theme for the Library Series this year will be the influence of Latin rhythms on the development of jazz. Featured performers are Frank French, pianist, March 18th, the Steve Homan Quartet featuring Francesca Homan, on April 22nd, the CSUS Latin Jazz Band on May 20th, and Paco Gatsby on Wednesday, May 23rd. The three Sunday performances are from 1:30 – 3:30 and the Wednesday performance is from 11:30 – 1:30; all performances will be held in the Tsakopoulas Gallery at the Main Library, 8th and I Streets, Sacramento.
New this year, is the Prelude to Jubilee series which will spotlight the variety of styles featured at the Jubilee. Kicking off this series will be Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers on Wednesday, April 4th, followed by John Cocuzzi and friends on April 18th and concluding with the Mat Marucci-Doug Webb Trio on May 2nd. The concerts, sponsored by Golden One, will be held at Waterfront Park in Old Sacramento from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The media sponsor is KXJZ and Old Sacramento Management will assist STJS in the presentation.

Friday, May 25th, the parade starts at 11:45 in Old Sacramento featuring this year the Disney Nemo Dream Mobile.
